BRITNEY SPEARS BACK IN HOSPITAL

Star On Psychiatric Hold For Second Time In A Month

Sources say that the new Psychiatrist who has been visiting Britney Spears daily observed a marked downturn in her behaviour and ordered her to be hospitalized immediately for treatment of bipolar disorder.

The medication Britney is said to have been taking has either not been working or not taken correctly as prescribed. It is reported that Ms Spears has also been using additional prescription medication and energy drinks rendering her unable to sleep since Saturday.

Britney was accompanied in the ambulance by her mother Lynne Spears and taken to UCLA Medical Centre where they were met by Jamie Spears her dad.

Tensions also flared up again between Britney’s parents and the troubled pop princess's friend the ever controversial Sam Lufti. Since her earlier hospitalization lawyers had begun to draw up papers enabling Mr Lufti to make decisions on behalf of Britney with regard to medical care and since nothing at that stage had been signed, Jamie Spears was said to be angered when doctors consulted Lufti for authorization. Doctors are now consulting with Lynne and Jamie over Britney’s treatment. No official power of attorney order has been finalized as yet.

A judge has initially signed a 72 hour order which allows the hospital to hold Britney for that time, but she retains the right to refuse medication. Reports would suggest that Britney is looking to cooperate fully with the doctors and is said to be calm.

Should Britney change her mind within the next three days and decide that she does not wish to be medicated it is likely that doctors will return to the courts seeking a 14 day extension to the initial 72 hour hold order. If this is granted doctors will not only have the authority to hold Britney, but also to administer treatment forcibly.
